Sunsets

  • by

Sunsets dripping
Into spoons of marmelade,
My lips eat the twilight,
While my canines scrap
The skin of the wind,
I swallow the day
With my impatience,
I eat my words
Before I utter
Them,
Slain vowels
Aborted prematurely
By my relentless doubt,
You said you
Arrive tomorrow,
With your silhouette
Stamped upon my heart,
I bleed the seal of
This envelope,
A letter inside,
To the universe,
What cannot be said
Must be spelled with
The ink of my veins
